Hendren Associates Architects and Planners, was founded in 1986 by Gary W. Hendren, AIA, who is the founding principal and the lead designer. Today, Hendren Associates Architects and Planner’s is an architectural and development consulting firm working primarily in the private sector on their traditional fields of residential and commercial buildings with an emphasis on planning, land use analysis, building design and project management. Our experience includes low, mid-rise and high-rise apartment buildings, townhouse complexes, sub-divisions, retail malls, office buildings, golf club houses, restaurants, parking garages, and resort complexes. HAAP has a special interest in resort properties that incorporate a golf course or marina and is one of the few architectural firms with expertise and understanding of the timeshare industry. Our main geographic focus is the New England states but we also have many years of experience working in the Caribbean including Grand Cayman, BWI; Grand Bahama and Great Abaco, Bahamas; and St. John and St. Thomas, USVI.

HAAP identifies potential development properties, performs feasibility analysis with regards to zoning, market and constructability, prepares a prospectus and establishes joint venture development teams. HAAP will then provide architectural design, engineering coordination, project management and construction phase services. The design team is fully integrated into the development and building process. Each decision is considered from all aspects bringing reality into design and design into reality. We believe this wholistic approach leads to better building, more successful projects and an improved relationship between all participants in the development process.
